Biography
Kyle Gallner stars in the Ben Stiller-produced, punk rock Dramatic Competition title Dinner in America which will make its world premiere at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.
Gallner most recently starred opposite David Morse in WGN's drama series Outsiders, the most-watched original series in the network's history. With Peter Tolan and Paul Giamatti serving as executive producers, Outsiders followed a powerful Appalachian family that would do anything to defend themselves and their territory.
On film in Clint Eastwood's American Sniper, Gallner portrayed Goat-Winston, one of Chris Kyle's (Bradley Cooper) brothers in arms on the rooftop of an Iraqi War mission. In Justin Simien's 2014 Sundance Film Festival hit Dear White People, Gallner played Kurt, the son of the school's president whose club comes up with a controversial party theme that sparks confrontation. Gallner also co-starred alongside Chris Pine and Ben Foster in Disney's The Finest Hours for director Craig Gillespie and played Huck in Adam and Aaron Nee's indie film Band Of Robbers, a modern-day twist on Mark Twain. Gallner's film credits also include Welcome to Happiness (which he also produced); Richard LaGravenese's Beautiful Creatures with Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, and Jeremy Irons; and Randall Miller's CBGB, in which he portrayed the iconic Lou Reed. James Ponsoldt's Sundance hit Smashed with Aaron Paul and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kevin Smith's Red State, Beautiful Boy with Michael Sheen, A Nightmare on Elm Street with Rooney Mara, The Haunting in Connecticut with Virginia Madsen, and Red with Brian Cox round out his filmography.
Gallner made his film debut in the cult hit comedy Wet Hot American Summer and has worked extensively in television. He is a native of Philadelphia.
